Josefina Baillères, a Mexican high jewelry designer, was one of the youngest of her class at GIA. Pursuing a Graduate Gemologist diploma and a CAD/CAM certificate at GIA right out of high school, she went on to study Fashion Design at Parsons School of Design. Soon after, she combined her love for gems with her passion for fashion to start designing bespoke jewelry and launch her own company—Josefina Jewelry.

According to Josefina, her education as a Graduate Gemologist enables her to be the eyes of her clients because she is able to see the types and qualities of gemstones that would best suit them. The knowledge of 3D design that she acquired in her CAD/CAM course helps her understand the engineering part of jewelry design. This enables her to control and elevate the quality of her work, creating pieces that are stunning from all angles.

Seen in Images 2-3 is the Rosa Supernova ring, which features a 10.6 carat Fancy yellow diamond flanked by half moon diamonds and surrounded by baguette diamonds and pink sapphire melee.
